Scalemate sewing pattern Pg. 1
Each page of this pattern should be printed out as a full 8 1/2" X 11" image. If you have to trace it from your computer screen, the Head Side is 8 1/2" long for scale reference.

Scalemates are from Homestuck, a web-comic written by Andrew Hussie and belong to him. This pattern was created by me and is for personal use only.

Heehee, I took and interesting route and printed these 2x the normal size and taped the pieces together. x3

I can't wait to see how big the finished product looks compared to the first one I based off of your same tutorial!

I'm sorry, this is probably a dumb question but when you say the lengths for printing, do you mean 8 1/2" in width or is it in length cause I'm a bit confused and don't want to print it off the wrong size :?

just a standard piece of printer paper. the pattern should fill the whole page, like it shows in the picture

you're not an idiot! print out the pattern, cut the pieces out and pin them to your fabric, and then cut around the paper pattern :)

Depends on what size you want to make them. Try printing out this page with the normal size and use the size of the head to decide if that would be too big or too small. If you want to make it bigger then you would have to try and sketch carefully on the fabric whatever size would be right, just using the template as a reference. If you want it smaller then I believe there are print settings to shrink it down. If print it then you might want to cut out the shapes and pin them to the fabric somehow and then cut around the edges of the shapes.

I used your pattern and sort of followed your tutorial (not to the t, but just enough for it to come out right)... once my friends caught sight of my scalemate I had made using your pattern they both wanted one... now they're going to pay me to make each of them one... thanks for the pattern =^w^=

I made one about half size out of felt and Seņor Eggplant looks great. I'm using it again half size to make one for my friend. One thing though, turning the spikes inside out is quite tricky.

THIS PATTERN IS A PAIN IN THE REAR.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD. SO NOT WORTH IT. TRACE IT.

-It doesn't open in word.
-It prints half size.
-Not compatible with WEPA printers.
-Totally caused pain and frustration on all levels of hell.

I recommend:
Just tracing it.

I don't know what system you're using, but it worked perfectly for me. Don't try opening the pattern in Word, just right-click the image and save it to the folder of your choice, then print it from there.

Just because you can't figure it out doesn't mean people shouldn't use it.
I for one got it printed out by, oh ho ho, copy and pasting it to MS paint, and then printing it.

Thanks for these. C: I've made two so far, one for me and one as a present, and I'm working on another.

I'm trying to decide whether I should make Lemonsnout or use a different on for my cosplay. :/ I have a lime green one and the one I'm working on is fluffy orange with white polka dots. c:

i used fleece. felt can be used, but the results may not be the same as the picture; it's not quite as stretchy
